Suse 10.1 und 5.1 Karte mit dementsprechendem Soundsystem

Nein, hat man nicht, eher weniger, da jeder Rechner, der nicht richtig läuft, unnötig Geld kostet. Aber ich kaufe auch keine Hardware, bei der ich nicht mit Sicherheit weiss, ob sie unter Linux läuft.
 
Sollte man nicht, aber in einem Unternehmen (ich weiß jetzt nich wo groß deins ist), kauft man ja Hardware mit gehobener Spezifikation.
 
Naja, was sind "gehobene Spezifikationen"? Ich achte halt drauf, dass entweder OpenSource-Treiber oder aber Treiber direkt vom Hersteller zur Verfügung stehen. Im Server-Bereich liefern die Hersteller mittlerweile ja meist Linux- und Unix-Treiber, aber im Desktop-Bereich, wo Linux nunmal nur 2% des Marktes ausmacht, ist es wohl kaum verwunderlich, dass es sich für die Hersteller nicht lohnt da Treiber für zu bauen. Gibt nur wenige Ausnahmen (wie z.B. IBM/Lenovo) für deren Hardware es recht gute Unterstützung für Linux gibt. Allerdings wird deren Hardware dann meist auch eher im "Profi-Bereich" (also von Admins, Programmierern u.ä.) eingesetzt.
Sicherlich ist das nicht toll für Desktop-User, da diese "Profi-Hardware" meist auch etwas teurer ist, aber solange Linux sich nicht durchsetzt, wird sich das nicht ändern und solange sollte man halt drauf achten, was man an Hardware kauft, wenn man Linux darauf laufen lassen will.

Noch etwas,

ich habe gerade gelesen, dass manche player kein 5.1 unterstützen.
kann diss in diesem Fall auch sein?
Verwende bis dato immer nur amarok
 
Probiere halt einen anderen Player und packe in Zukunft bitte solch lange Logs nicht in ein quote- sondern in ein code-Block. :)

ich hab´s mal mit ner DVD probiert, aber ich kann keine abspielen.
nu hab ich gelesen, dass man keine abspielen kann, was ich aber nich glaube.

Ich weiss das ich im MPlayer alle DVDs sehen kann.
Du findest den MPlayer in den SMART / APT channeln von packman die hier im Forum beschrieben sind.
Vielleicht solltest du auch mal VLC (Video LAN Player) ausprobieren der macht soweit wie ich das weiss fast alles.

Zu dienem Problem mit der Installation kann ich dir leider momentan nicht weiter helfen da ich den Soundchip nicht besitze und leider auch kein 5.1 in/an meinem Rechner habe.
