ATI 3D Beschleunigung

Hallo,
Ich weiß dieses Thema wurde hier schon oft besprochen, habe mir auch jeden Thread dazu durchgelesen und suche bereits in google seit langem nach einer Lösung, aber ich schaffe es einfach nicht.
Ich sehe zwar immer Anleitungen wo die Leute schreiben, dass sie es so geschafft haben, aber bei mir funktioniert das irgendwie nicht...entweder weil die älteren treiber besser waren oder es nur auf den älteren ATI Karten richtig funktioniert. Ich weiß es nicht.

Habe eine X700 mit 256MB in meinem Laptop stecken, könnte jemand der es bereits auf einer neueren ATI Karte geschafft hat hier eine kleine Anleitung schreiben? wäre echt nett, bin noch neu in Linux...und verwende Debian =)
 
Wo hackt es denn? Wie soll man dir helfen ohne Informationen.

Also, ich habe die neuesten fglrx treiber ausgeführt...aber es klappt nicht. wenn ich glxgears mache oder glxinfo | grep "rendering" oder so ähnlich dann sehe ich auch, das sich noch keine 3D beschleunigung habe.

In meiner xorg.conf habe ich bei dem Modulen "dri" und "glx" geladen.
und in der Section "Device" habe ich als Driver "fglrx" angegeben (nach dem installieren von den Treibern natürlich, vorher stand da "ati")
 
Welche Version hast Du? welchen Kernel dazu? fglrx 8.21.7 laeuft gut mit 2.6.15.x, aber < 8.21.7 gab es probleme, selbst mit den Patches.
sende mal die ausgabe von
dmesg | grep fglrx,
schau Dir an, was in Xorg.0.log darueber steht.
Vielleicht sind module geladen, die fglrx im Wege stehen.
Version von Kernel und Treiber sind bei solchen Fragen immer sehr nuetzlich.
 
Also, ich habe den 2.6.15er Kernel und fglrx 8.21.7 (das fglrx 8.22.5 hätte ich auch zur Verfügung)

Ich habe mir jetzt mal das fglrx 8.21.7 ausgeführt per "./" da es eine *.run datei war.

Danach ist gestanden, das Fehler während der Installation geschehen sind und in der Datei fglrx-installation.log drinnenstehen. Danach wollte ich fglrxconfig machen, aber dieser Befehl hat nicht mehr funktioniert. Soweit ich weiß muss man jetzt aticonfig verwenden. Ich habe zuerst "aticonfig --initial" eingegeben und danach "aticonfig -f".

Was mir danach aufgefallen ist: In "xorg.conf" gibt es jetzt zweimal die Section "Monitor", zweimal die Section "Device" und zweimal die Section "Screen", einmal die, die vorher da waren und dann nochmal die neuen die bei der aticonfig anscheinend hinzugefügt wurden. Macht das was? Sollte ich das so lassen oder die alten rauslöschen?

Nun, dass du keine 3D-Beschleunigung hast, liegt also daran, dass er das Kernel-Modul nicht laden kann, was ja bei den Fehlern, die du beim Installieren des Moduls bekommst kein Wunder ist. :)
Wenn ich die Meldung des Installers richtig interpretiere, braucht er lediglich Kernel-Sources, die die gleiche Konfiguration haben, wie dein installierter Kernel. Installiere dir also mit
Code:
apt-get install kernel-source-2.6.16
die Kernel-Sources zu deiner Kernel-Version. Danach findest du in /usr/src einen Tarball, den du mit
Code:
tar -xjf kernel-source-2.6.16.tar.bz2
entpacken kannst. Verlinke das entstandene Verzeichnis nach /usr/src/linux
Code:
ln -s /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.16 /usr/src/linux
und kopiere deine Kernel-Konfiguration mit
Code:
cp /boot/config-`uname -r` /usr/src/linux/.config
Dann wechsel nach /usr/src/linux und fuehre dort
Code:
make oldconfig && make all
aus. Wenn das make durchgelaufen ist, versuche nochmal den Installer auszufuehren. :)

eh, der 2.6.16 ist noch garnicht erschienen, lediglich als release candidate :>.
 
Hmm stimmt, also wahrscheinlich nen "hand-installierter" Kernel. Dann hat da wohl jemand seine Kernel-Sources geloescht. Wie auch immer. Das (die?) Build-Environment baut man sonst ja auch aehnlich auf, nur dass man nicht die Sources des Debian-Pakets nehmen kann. Hatte ich garnicht drauf geachtet.

Soll ich jetzt die Kernelsources für den 2.6.15er auch laden so wie oben beschrieben (nur eben die Versionsnummer auf 2.6.15 wechseln)?
Oder liegt der Fehler doch an etwas anderem?

Ja. Evtl. noch einige devel Tools wie gcc installieren.

Mh....bin gerade aus der Schule Heim gekommen. Habe probiert den Kernelsource zu installieren mit dem Befehl:

...aber es klappt nicht, der findet nichts. Habe auch schon mit apt-cache search gesucht...aber nichts gefunden. Habe auch schon ein apt-get update gemacht.

--> hat sich erledigt, bin nun draufgekommen, dass es linux-source-2.6.15 heißt :)

Aber jetzt funktioniert folgender Befehl leider nicht:

Tarball auspacken und dann

So...ich habs nochmal gemacht und es hat geklappt. Für das make habe ich unter anderem noch gcc und glibc gebraucht...hab ich mir auch per apt gehohlt und jetzt läuft das make gerade durch...

Habe nun nachdem make durchgelaufen ist den Treiber-Installer erneut ausgeführt. Es kamen die selben fehler während der Installation die ich oben bereits gepostet habe (fglrx-installation.log)

Die 3D Beschleunigung funktioniert leider nochimmer nicht :(

Da bin ich ueberfragt. Beim Kompilieren zu Helfen war ja kein Ding (gibt ja bei fast allen LKMs die gleichen Probleme ;) ), aber da ich keine ATI habe, fehlen mir auch die entsprechenden Erfahrungen mit den Treibern.

Ok, danke für den Link, den muss ich wohl übersehen haben...es gibt ja auch sau viele Threads über die ATI Treiber. Das HowTo ist zwar etwas lang aber ich werd mich mal hinsetzen und es durchziehen.
