Hi,

ich hab hier nen riesiges Problem mit dem X-Server. Neuerdings wird auch unter Debian meine Grafikkarte, eine VIA KM400, unterstützt (zumindest laut xf86cfg). Der VIA-Treiber wurde wohl erst vor kurzem hinzugefügt, da der VIA-X-Server erst seit meinem letzten Update zur Verfügung steht. Laut dem XFree86-Projekt und meinen Experimenten unter FreeBSD hat dieser auch eine Hardware-Beschleunigung für die VIA KM400. Leider funktioniert der VIA-XServer nicht unter Debian. Wenn ich ihn einstelle bleibt mein Bildschirm schwarz (sieht sogar so aus, als wuerde sich der Bildschirm abschalten), obwohl X gestartet wird (kdeinit und das ganze zeug taucht in der Prozessliste auf). Unter FreeBSD hatte ich mir diesen XServer mal haendisch kompiliert und kann seitdem Hardware-Beschleunigung unter BSD nutzen. Nun hätte ich aber auch unter Debian gern Hardware-Beschleunigung (ich vermisse Tuxracer ) und nicht immer nur den fbdev-Server. Weiss jemand, woran es liegen kann? Hat jemand evtl. die gleiche Karte (oder sogar den gleichen Rechner - ein Acer Aspire 1350) und benutzt unter Debian keinen fbdev-Server? Warum bleibt der Bildschirm schwarz? Wenn es am Debian-Paket liegen sollte, wuerde ich den XServer auch per Hand kompilieren, allerdings weiss ich nicht, ob und auf was ich unter Debian dabei achten muss.
Für jeden Hinweis waere ich echt dankbar, da das XServer-Log keinerlei Fehler meldet und der Bildschirm trotzdem schwarz bleibt.

Der XServer startet ohne Fehlermeldungen, wenn ich ihn mit startx starte, der Bildschirm bleibt einfach nur schwarz.

Ich kann mir allerdings nicht vorstellen, dass deshalb der Monitor dunkel bleibt.
Kann mir evtl. jemand sagen, wodurch diese Meldungen zustande kommen und wie ich diese verhindere/umgehe/behebe?
 
Die horizontal und vertikal Frequenzen von Deinem Moni sehen irgendwie putzig aus. Sind die richtig? Also laut Handbuch bzw. Hersteller-HP?

Bringt ein einfaches "X" auch nur nen "black screen"?
 
Monitor-Frequenz

Ja, die Monitor-Frequenz laeuft problemlos mit dem fbdev-XServer ohne, dass ich an den Monitor-Einstellungen etwas aendern muss. Sollte also auch für den via-XServer laufen. Denn schwarzen Screen (wie ich ja bereits erwähnte scheint sich der Monitor sogar abzuschalten) bekomme ich immer, wenn ich versuche den via-XServer zu benutzen. Mit fbdev läuft alles problemlos (nur leider kein Hardware-3D).
