Ich besitze eine ATI Radeon X800xl und habe heute den entsprechenden Treiber dafür installiert. Sprich: Skript rpm für SuSE 10.2 erstellen lassen und über Smart installieren. Hat auch so weit alles gut und reibungslos funktioniert.

Nur habe ich jetzt das Problem, dass jedes Mal beim Starten die Auflösung auf 1920x1440 eingestellt ist und eine Änderung im ATI-Konfigurationstool nur temporär weiterhilft, da nach einem Neustart wieder alles beim alten ist.
Will ich unter SaX2 die Auflösung ändern und/oder die 3d-Beschleunigung aktivieren, ist der einzige Effekt (sowohl beim direkten Speichern, als auch beim Test), dass ein Prozess namens xmode gestartet wird, der unter Volllast (~95% Systemauslastung) läuft und auch nicht von selbst wieder aufhört, während auch das SaX2-Fenster sich nicht mehr schließt. Das läuft so lange, bis ich neustarte oder den Prozess mit root-Rechten manuell beende.

Ich hänge mal meine XOrg.conf an und hoffe, dass mir jemand weiterhelfen kann.

Hat sich erledigt. Nach viel Suchen und Probieren hat letztendlich diese Änderung der XOrg.conf funktioniert!
