HD Parameter setzen Suse 10.3, lahmer gehts kaum!

Hallo an Alle,
ich habe seit 3 Wochen Suse 10.3 installiert und seit dem sinkt meine Laune und Lust, mit dieser Distri, immer weiter gegen NUL!

Frage 1: Wie kann ich die Parameter für meine IDE HDs einstellen?
hdparm macht das nicht mehr, nur noch ein -Tt geht schon noch, zeigt 500 kb/s.
Auch sonst so bekannte Tools, Für Kontroller und IDE-Modus, unter Yast gibt es einfach nicht mehr.

Frage 2:
Eine Deutsche Doku für den System-Config-Editor, Runlevel-Editor, Systemeinstellungen, Währe für mich sehr aufschlussreich.
Das was ich bei Novel zu Diesen und weiteren Themen finden kann, enthält einiges an Widersprüchen, scheint für mich kaum von Wert.

Frage 3:
Warum taucht mein Raid-Controller nicht mehr in der Boot.mesg auf, so das ich das Setup einsehen kann.

Keine Frage, wenn noch weitere Infos von Nutzen sein können, bitte WAS und WIE ich selbige auslesen kann.

In dieser Config macht es keinen Spass. Ich bitte höflich um Hilfe und lese gern weiterführende Links und Texte, so ich die denn Lesen kann. So gut ist mein Englisch leider nicht.

Ich danke schon jezt für eure Mühe, ich weis nicht mehr wo, und wie ich nach Infos suchen soll.

OK, dann noch einfacher

Alle Festplatten sind zu langsam!

hdparm -t nicht mal EIN MB/s !!!!!! Booten dauert ewig, kopieren dauert ewig, Multimedia ist eine Diashow- obwohl es doch ein Film sein soll. CPU dabei 100%, System ist dann unbrauchbar. Keine Maus und Keyboard.

Write- und Lesecahe der HDs (SDxX) einschalten.
Wo und Wie? Bitte.

Kontroller, Winic W-680 und SiS 5513, konfigurieren 32bit sup u.a.. Wo und Wie. Bitte.

Dokus zum Thema, wennes geht auf Deutsch, kann nicht aderst.

DMA-Modus für die Platten einschalten: 'yast sysconfig' (als root)->Hardware->IDE

Alternativ die notwendigen hdparm-Befehle in die /etc/init.d/rc vor das letzte 'exit 0' einfügen, aber meist liegt es am nicht aktivierten DMA-Modus.

Siehe auch 'man hdparm'. Und lerne Englisch, wenn du weiterhin mit Linux arbeiten willst und Google benutzen, bevor du hier weiterhin Fragen stellst, die schon 1000 Mal im Netz beantwortet wurden.
 
Das verwendete Mainboard ist leider unbrauchbar.

Das Programm Hdparm ist mir wohl bekannt, jedoch benutze ich

OpenSuse 10.3

so wie es sich nun mal installiert.
ein hdparm /dev/sda bringt:

Hdparm v7.7 kann die Einstellungen unter 10.3 nicht herstellen.
Sonst hätte ich nicht nach weiteren Möglichkeiten gefragt.
Der Hinweis auf Yast2 ist mir genauso bekannt, jedoch unter 10.3 nicht verfügbar, wie auch so einiges mehr.
Sicher habe ich versucht die benötigten Module hinzuzufügen, nur kann ich aus eigenen Mitteln nicht herausbekommen, welche das sind!
Der Sysconfig Editor hält einen Eintrag bereit /Hardware/IDE,
nur ohne Wissen traue ich mich da nicht heran. Allein deshalb, weil meine Geräte mit z.b. sda , sdb .sdc bezeichnet sind und nicht als hdxX !


Deinem Vorschlag >/etc/init.d/rc< werde ich genauso nachgehen und schauen, was ich damit machen kann.

Sicher stellt sich eine Suche nach meinem Problem mit meinen geringen Kenntnissen in Englisch sehr mühsam dar. Ist es da nicht nur logisch, um Hilfe zu bitten? Das ist kein Grund zum aufgeben.

Noch einmal Danke, aber das wusste ich schon und einsetzen kann ich das ebenfalls. Mit debian läufts ja auch, und ist der gleiche SCHROTT. (@Keruskerfürst)
Was ich nicht weis, ist, was >modulares.pata< ist, und wie DAS konfiguriert werden will.
