Hallo,
ich bin ein totaler Neuling in Sachen Linux.

Ich habe Vorgestern Suse Linux 10.0 installiert. Und ein bisschen rumprobiert, sieht aufs erste echt gut aus :)

Nun bin ich aber auf 2 Probleme gestoßen:
1. Meine Grafikkarte:
Ich habe eine Nividea TNT2 Pro Grafikkarte, und diese wird laut Forum nicht mehr richtig unterstützt (kein 3D mehr) Gibt es irgendeine Möglichkeit diese Funktion durch irgendeine Installation wieder zu aktvieren? (am besten Schritt für Schritt Anleitung weil ich noch nicht so ganz den Durchblick hab)

2. Das Internet:
Ich habe einen Router der kein DHCP hat seine IP Adresse lautet 192.168.2.1

Unter Windows hatte ich bis jetzt immer meine IP Subnetmaske Gateway und DNS Server eintippen können...
Wo kann ich das in Linux ?

(Die daten währen bei mir:
IP: 192.168.2.41
Subnetmaske: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1
DNS-Server: 192.168.2.1
)
Gibts da vielleicht auch irgendwie noch eine Schritt für Schritt Anleitung wie ich das einrichte ?

lad dir von nvidia.com den alten Treiber runter, aber ich bezweifele, dass du das "gebacken" bekommst, wenn du dich als "Neuling" bezeichnest.

zu 2.: starte mal "yast" als root ("su -" und Passwort bei Aufforderung eingeben) und dort kannst du dein Netzwerk einstellen. Das geht natürlich auch anders, aber für dich sollte yast erst einmal die Anlaufstelle Nr. 1 sein :).

Eine feste IP Adresse kann man mit yast2 -> Netzwerk -> Netzwerkkarte einstellen.

das mit dem Netzwerk funktioniert nicht, weil ich kann zwar IP-Adresse Gateway und Subnetmaske eintippen aber es gibt nirgendswo ein Feld wo ich den DNS-Server eintragen könnte und ohne den funktioniert das Internet leider nicht.

Unter Hostname und Nameserver kann dies eingetragen werden.
 
dns server kannst du in der datei /etc/resolv.conf eintragen

dazu in die konsole. su um root zu werden. editor nehmen und eintragen

nano -w /etc/resolv.conf

eintrag:

nameserver <ip>
nameserver <ip>

trag 2 ein das wenn der eine offline gehen sollte.

Wenn du voraussetzt, dass jeder in der Lage ist alles durch Readme's, die man-pages, Google, die Foren, die IRC-Chats, die ICQ-Kontakte, die Handbücher, die vielen Mailinglists, die SUSE-Website, das OpenSuSE-Wiki und was es nicht noch alles gibt alles direkt zu verstehen, brauchten wir dieses Forum eigentlich garnicht.
Ich habe also großes Unverständnis solcher Aussagen gegenüber.
Gestern noch hast du mir gesagt, dass das Niveau des Forums wieder gestiegen ist, doch durch Aussagen wie diese bist du auf dem besten Wege es wieder anders herum zu drehen.

Versteh mich nicht falsch, aber ein Anfänger, der bis Dato nur Windows benutzt hat und auf eine solch nette Art und Weise fragt, hat auch eine faire Antwort verdient.

Das dazu :).

Ich hab es jetzt hinbekommen ins Internet zu gehn :)
Funktioniert einwandfrei (schreib hier grade von meim Linux xD )

Aber das mit der Grafikkarte bekomm ich nicht hin...

Ich hab eine Nvidia Rivia TNT 2 pro
also hab ich mir von Nvidia den Treiber für Linux so wie ihr gesagt hab herruntergeladen...
den hat es dann in /home(name/datei.run abgespeichert...

dann hab ich es über die Konsole mit sh '/home/name/datei.run' -q
aufgerufen...
Dann hat er schön das Archiv überrprüft usw.
Dann hat der Treiber sich gemeldet er hätte einen X server gefunden und man könnte dan nichts installieren usw... dann hat er noch gesagt in /var/log/xyz.xyz würde der genaue Fehlerlog stehen, ich poste ihn mal mit vllt kann mir ja einer helfen :)

1. Auf die Konsole wechseln.
2. als root einloggen
3. init 3 eingeben

Dies steht alles im Log.
 
hm hab das jetzt mal probiert so zu installieren, jetzt gibts ne erneute Fehlermeldung bei kompilieren des Kernels oder so ähnlich... (nicht böse sein :) ich hab wirklich null Ahnung von Linux, da gibts so viele Funtkionen dies im Windows nicht hat :D

also auf jeden Fall hab ich jetzt einen neuen noch viel längeren log -.-

für mich steht da irgendwie nur unverständliches Zeugs drin von dem ich keine Ahnung hab ...

edit: und wo genau steht das mit dem init 3 im log ? :)

Du solltest doch den alten Nvidia-Treiber runterladen und _nicht_ den neuen. Ich habe das nicht aus Spaß dazugeschrieben.
Wie und wo steht ja im Error-Log oder im Quote hier.
 
sry wenn ich jetzt nochmal doof Frage, aber wo kann ich den alten Treiber runterladen ;(
ahh ok mein englisch ist ja so schlecht, habs gefunden Archiv muss man anklicken ;)
aber wie find ich raus welche version meine tnt2 pro unterstützt ? ;(

Es ist auch keine schlechte Idee die kernel-sourcen runterzuladen und zu installieren.

Dazu:

- auf kernel.org gehen
- die sourcen für DEINEN kernel ziehen
- welchen kernel du hast sagt dir ein beherztes

Code: 
uname -a

in der Konsole.
- die sourcen nach /usr/src entpacken
- und mit

Code: 
ln -s /usr/src/linux /usr/src/deine_gerade_entpackten_sourcen

einen symlink drauf setzen
 
da er SuSE nutzt einfach von der DVD mit Yast nachinstallieren, aber die Sourcen wird er bereits haben, da der Installer sonst nicht den Kompiliervorgang starten würde.

wird komplizierter als gedacht -.- ; jetzt hab ich mir mal eine Version von 2003 angeschaut, das ist eine rpm datei für suse linux 8.0 nur wie installier ich die ? die neuen kann man ja mit sh /datei... installieren
in der Anleitung von der Version (2003) muss man da zig Befehle eingeben, an denen ich klaglos scheitere ;( gibts da keine einfache Lösung ? (so wie beim Netzwerk einrichen ;) )

Ich seh schon da hab ich nen haufen zu lernen

p.s. das mit dem Linux Kernel hab ich gar nicht probiert, das sieht ja 110x komplizierter aus als alles andere...
 
Versuch was aus der 66xx Serie, die sollten noch funktionieren.

Generell solltest du erstmal das Handbuch lesen da wird das alles sehr gut erklärt.
 
hm ich hab mir mal irgendwo die Suse Linux Version 10.0 runtergeladen gehabt (die Free) aber da stand nirgends wo was von Handbuch im HTML TXT o.ä. dran. Gibts das vllt. irgendwo, weil ich denk auch das man iwie zuerst mal bisschen grundwissen bräuchte :)
 
beherzige lieber dennism's Tipp, dann brauchst du auch nicht mit rpm's rumzuhantieren, die nutzlose Dateien installieren.
