Auflösung erhöhen?

    Folgendes Problem: ich kann auf meinem Ubuntu System die Auflösung nicht über 1024*768 Pixel erhöhen.
    Als Grafikkarte benutze ich eine Geforce 6600Gt und als Monitor einen AOC dessen genaue Modellbeziechnung mir leider nicht bekannt ist er hat jedoch eine Größe von 21-Zoll und eine native Auflösung von 1600*1200 Pixeln.
    Die beschleunigten Nvidia Treiber habe ich bereits aktiviert.
    Egal was ich versuche ich kann unter System -> Einstellungen -> Bildschirmauflösung nichts höheres als 1024*768 auswählen...

    Wie komme ich nun zu meiner gewünschten Auflösung von 1600*1200 Pixeln?

    Hast du schon versucht deine xorg.conf mithilfe des Nvidia Programms zu editieren?

    aus. Moderne Monitore brauchen die 'Einträge nicht. Und dann check mal das Xorg.0.log, ob es hier irgendwelche Warnungen/Fehler bzgl. der Auflösung gibt ...
