2 x-server gleichzeitig auf 2 verschiedenen monitoren

hi

ich bin nun entlich auf linux umgestiegen, da entlich fast alles so hinhaut wie ich mir das vorstelle.

ich möchte nun mit meinem arbeitslaptop das bild splitten, also eigentlich will ich twinview erreichen. Das hab ich auch fast geschafft, nur das auf meinem Samsung 206BW die gleiche auflösung wie am notebook dargestellt wird.

Anscheinend ist twinview mit unterschiedlichen auflösungen nur mit einer nvidia karte möglich.

also habe ich mich für die "Unabhängige Desktop" variante entschieden (2x xserver starten und jeweils einem monitor zuteilen).
jetzt stellt sich für mich die frage, wie kann ich dem xserver sagen auf welchem ausgang der grafikkarte er rausgehen soll?

hab ein transtec notebook mit dem intel-chip 945 drin.

hat wirklich keiner eine ahnung? ... wohin soll ich mich denn dann noch wenden??
 
Paar mehr Infos wären schon nicht schlecht. Welche Distri verwendest du denn? Wie sieht die xorg.conf aus?

wie gesagt, ich bin neu unter linux, und hab die config derzeit nur so hingepfuscht das ich wenigstens mit einem monitor auf 1680x1050 arbeiten kann.

optimieren will ich sie dahingehend das ich rechts einen x-server mit der auflösung 1280x800 laufen lassen will, und links am hauptmonitor mit 1680x1050

Deiner xorg.conf kann man leider nicht entnehmen welche Grafikkarte du verwendest und Twinview-Einstellungen sind sehr abhängig von der GraKa. Unter http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Dual_Monitors findet man z.B. eine Anleitung für die Einrichtung verschiedener Grafikkarten mit Dual-Monitor. Die ist zwar für Gentoo, die Konfigurationen kann man aber zumeist problemlos für andere Distros übernehmen.

ich hab den intelchip 945 drin. das sagt mir zumindest die displayconfig wenn ich sudo displayconfig-gtk eingebe.

Naja, man sollte schon wissen, was man für Hardware im Rechner hat, wenn Linux einrichten will. Schau lieber nochmal mit 'lspci' nach, welche GraKa du hast. Ist es wirklich diese Karte, stelle sicher, dass du den i810-Treiber in deiner xorg.conf verwendest und das die Kernel-Module intel-agp und i915 geladen sind, damit du erstmal alle Möglichkeiten der Karte auch nutzen kannst.
 
wie stelle ich fest ob der treiber in meiner xorg.conf verwendet wird ... wie soll die zeile aussehen?

Ich würde den "intel" treiber nehmen statt i810. i810 ist schon veraltet und durch "intel" ersetzt worden :) Bei mir heißt er z.b "xf86-video-intel" .
