Xserver und Geforce mal wieder

Hi,
ich hab hier schon nen haufen gelesen über Probleme mit Xserver und einer Nvidia karte. ich hatte auch diese Probleme, hab jetzt einfach nen Vesa treiber geladen dann gings, aber das kann ja auch nicht das wahre sein deshalb hier mal so nen paar sachen:
-Hab was gelesen vonwegen Framebuffer deaktivieren, WIE?
-Wie kann ich denn die Auflösung hochschrauben weil 1024 is bei 19" bisschen doof

Ich hab die Config aus Knoppix kopiert und dann trial and error gemacht, aber wäre für jede hilfe und Optimierungsvorschläge dankbar.

Also ich habe hier keine Probleme mehr, seitdem ich den neuen nvidia-Treiber nutze [43.??].

Wieviel kHz hat dein 19"er?

hab schon gegoogelt und nix gefunden,
klär mich mal jemand auf, bin neu bei X hatte sonst immer command line *G*

94khz horizontal 100hz vertikal hat der monitor

nvidia-Treiber: Also ich weis nicht ob es da irgendwie einen für Debian gibt. Da müssen Dir mal die Debianer weiterhelfen.

VORSICHT!! Das Teil geht sicherlich nicht unter Debian.


Zum Monitor:
Welche Auflösung möchtest Du am Ende habe?

Dann sage ich Dir, was Du einstellen musst.
Ich verwende für meinen 19"er 1280x960 (musst Du ja nicht unbedingt machen)
Dazu muss folgendes in deiner XF86Config-4 stehen:

jo ich denke ja das den beitrag sich hier mal jemand anschaut der auch Debian hat.

du mußt das nv modul aktivieren und den framebuffer abstellen =>

"dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" als root eingeben und mit der ncurses "gui" die punkte ändern. für 3d benötigst du aber den orginal nvida treiber => auf www.apt-get.org findest du fertige pakete für debian.

also hab das mit dpkg-reconfigure mal versucht aber dann meckert der rum nvidia kernel module not found, aber das modul will sich net installen lassen

kann mir vielleicht nen tipp oder so zur modulinstallation geben?

/edit: natürlich nicht allgemein zu modulen sondern nur zu besagtem nvidia modul, der rest ist klar ;-)

"modprobe nvidia" => dann nochmal probieren. falls es klappt => mit "insmod nvidia" das modul installieren.

ich hab mir jetzt nicht alle beiträge durchgesehen, aber da sollte eigentlich schon nvidia stehen.
mit modprobe nvidia kannst du dann nach einen restart das modul nachladen (falls das nicht automatisch geladen wird und du dann die fehlermeldung von X kriegst mit "screens found but no usable configuration" .... oder so ähnlich halt.
auch die README von nvidia ist nicht zu verachten, da da einige faq`s drinnen stehen die zumindest einen großen teil der möglichen probleme abdeckt. zumindest hab ich das mit dem dann zum laufen gekriegt

nvidia geht nicht, und modprobe nvidia geht auch nicht, da liegt das problem, und treiber runtergeladen habe ich ja aber der will die nicht installieren weil es so aussieht als hätten die dependencys gegeneinander, also der eine sagt beim installen das ihm der andre fehlt und umgekehrt (die treiber die mir weiter oben empfohlen wurden)

ich hab eine gf-4200ti und bei mir hats auch einige probleme gegeben mit dem nvidia treiber, aber im endeffekt hat es hingehauen

eine genauere fehlermeldung wäre gut. wenn du kein 3d haben willst reichen die normalen nv treiber.
