Wie Dienste beim Start doch nicht starten lassen?

Hallo, mein Redhat hängt sich jedes mal auf, wenn er sendmail starten will, wie kann ich das überspringen?
 
Dauert das Starten von Sendmail nur sehr lange oder stoppt der Bootvorgang?
 
Single-User-Modus booten (Kernel-Parameter: 1), Link im entsprechenden Runlevel-Ordner für sendmail entfernen, im normalen Modus rebooten.
 
Dann kannst du dir das Booten im Single-User-Modus sparen. Einfach mittels einem Runlevel-Editor den Dienst deaktivieren, wenn du ihn nicht benötigst. Ansonsten mal in die Mail-Logs schauen ob da evtl. Warnungen o.ä. auftauchen, die für das Problem verantwortlich sein könnten.
 
ich hab jetzt herausgefunden, dass der rechner insgesammt auf einmal ewig brauch, das war vorher nicht...

das ist nen 4 dual core duo... das kann ned sein...

Spontan tippe ich mal auf das ungünstige Wetter in der sibirischen Taiga.
 
ich habe ja auch keinen weiteren anhaltspunkt, was möchtest du denn für infos?
 
Wie wäre es mit:

- genaue Hardware-Auflistung
- genaue Auflistung der Dienste die auf der Kiste laufen
- Die System-logs (sinnvoll gekürzt von dir natürlich) insbesondere /var/log/messages
- Die Ausgabe der üblichen Verdächtigen: top & free
 
also laut top gibt es keinen Prozess, der übermäßig CPU bzw. Memory nutzt..

X steht hierbei für den Namen deines default-runlevels, welches du entweder mit dem Befehl runlevel nach dem Booten rauskriegst oder durch einen Blick in die /etc/inittab.

Zum Problem:

Boote mal ohne "quiet splash", indem du das einfach in der /boot/grub/menu.lst löscht und uns dann sagst, wo es halt hängt.

P.S.:

HW und Dienste natürlich trotzdem noch nachliefern! (s.o.)
 
wo sehe ich das denn in der inittab? dort gibts level 0-6

aber wie gesagt, der ist auf einmal auch sehr langsam, wenn ich irgendein tool starte...

deine anweisungen habe ich noch nicht gemacht, weil ich angst habe, dass ich das system noch ganz zerschieße...

kann das was mit der Grafikkarte zutun haben,
oder mit der TV Karte, die habe ich nämlich gesteckt...
die funktioniert im moment nur im overlay modus...leider...

X steht hierbei für den Namen deines default-runlevels, welches du entweder mit dem Befehl runlevel nach dem Booten rauskriegst oder durch einen Blick in die /etc/inittab.

Zum Problem:

Boote mal ohne "quiet splash", indem du das einfach in der /boot/grub/menu.lst löscht und uns dann sagst, wo es halt hängt.

P.S.:

HW und Dienste natürlich trotzdem noch nachliefern! (s.o.)

quiet splash gibt es dort nicht:

nur diese zeile:

splashimage=(hd0,1)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

nirgend woanders ist etwas mit splash vorhanden

ich empfehle htop zum aufspühren verdächtiger prozesse.

man alter was fährt der denn alles für dienste hoch. mann oh mann die braucht doch keiner.

so, irgendwie ist es komisch,

habe jetzt den Vesa Treiber genommen und alles l'uft perfekt.
Der Rechner ist schnell und vorallem funktioniert nun der Capture Mode meiner TV Karte in verschiedensten Programmen.
