onboard Audio device wird nicht erkannt

Hi,
ich verwende einen betagten Rechner mit gentoo (2.4er kernel) als Router und würde ihm zwecks Streaming gerne das onboard Audio device vorstellen. Doch obwohl der Audio Controller im BIOS definitiv enabled ist, wird nichts Audiocontroller ähnliches im lspci angezeigt. Im Kernel ist zwar noch keinerlei Audiosupport integriert, aber er müsste doch wenigstens die Karte finden, oder?
Das Board ist ein Intel e139761, leider konnte ich bisher nicht herausfinden, um welchen Audiochip es sich handelt. Kann es sein, dass noch irgendein Controllersupport in den Kernel hinein muss, um den oboard-Controller finden zu können?
Ich bin für jeden Tipp dankbar!!!

Hmmm ... anzeigen tut er es nicht ^^

Schau mal ins BIOS und versichere dich nochmal - dann bau mal den Kernel mit Sound Support ...

Hi!

@Lord Kefir: In dem Archiv war ich gestern auch schon, habe aber leider vergeblich nach einem "e139761" gesucht.

Ich werde, wenn sich die Gelegenheit ergibt, den Server 'mal abschalten zu können, mit einem Knoppix schauen, ob das etwas findet. Wenn das so ist, weiß ich vielleicht, um welche Hardware es sich handelt und werde dann den Kernel im gentoo entsprechend modifizieren.

Hi,

zunächst habe ich ein Knoppix (aktuelle Version) gebootet, doch auch dieses konnte leider kein Audio device finden. Völlig verzweifelt habe ich dann ein Windows 98 unter dem Ssystem installiert, welches das Sound device erkannte und mit einem "OPL3-SAx WDM"-Treiber zum Laufen brachte. Es handelt sich also tatsächlich um ein ISA device. Das erklärt, wieso lspci nichts gefunden hat. Doch welche Möglichkeiten habe ich unter Linux, ISA Geräte zu finden?

Leider ergibt sich mit dem neuen Kernel (mit audio support) nach der Installation der alsa-driver und der alsa-utils das Problem, dass mit mpg123 oder mp3blaster abgespielte Musikdateien kurz anspielen und dann in einer Endlosschleife eines etwa 2 Sekunden Teiles des Liedes verharren.
