mysteriöse 8GB HDD

Hallo,

ich habe letztens ein Upgrade von Suse11.1 auf 11.2 gemacht. Nun ist mir eine mysteriöse 8GB große Festplatte (/dev/sdc) aufgefallen, die es eigentlich nicht geben sollte.

Ich kann es zwar nicht mit Sicherheit sagen, aber vor dem Update dürfte die nicht da gewesen sein. Hat einer eine Idee wo die her kommt? Und wie werde ich sie wieder los?

Ich habe 2 Festplatten, auf der ersten ist Windows (Vista), auf der 2. ist Suse. Eine dritte Festplatte habe ich nicht.

Hast du evtl. einen Cardreader, USB-Stick o.ä. angeschlossen?
 
Nein, beides nicht der Fall. Cardreader habe ich nicht und auch USB-Sticks oder ähnliches sind nicht angeschlossen. Habs extra auch noch mal nach nem Neustart getested.

Aha ... das heißt?

Jetzt mal im Ernst, ich habe sogar meinen Rechner noch mal aufgeschraubt und nachgeguckt (man weiß ja nie ob sich da nicht doch einer einen Aprilscherz erlaubt hat) ... da ist keine Festplatte!

PS: Wieso geht eigentlich dei Uhr im Forum ne 16min vor?
 
Du könntest ja spaßeshalber mal versuchen die Platte zu partitionieren und Daten drauf zu schieben. Oder auch nicht.

Da würde ich mir aber vorher sicherheitshalber mit dd ein Image ziehen.

Der Name

deutet an, es könnte etwas Wichtiges drauf sein.

Ansonsten Handbuch des Rechners konsultieren, das Ding ist kein Phantom, was immer es auch ist, 8GB Speicher müssen ja nichts (physikalisch) Großes sein.

Ja, ich habe ein Asus P5Q-Pro und DriveXpert war auf "auto" gestellt. Aus irgendeinem Grund wurde die Option wohl aktiviert, denn früher muss es wohl aus gewesen sein. Kann ein Update/Upgrade das Bios umstellen?

Ich habe es jetzt deaktiviert und nun ist auch die /dev/sdc verschwunden.
