hallo,
ich habe versucht mir nen 2.6er kernel zu "backen" mit multiprozessor unterstützung. der rechner bootet zwar aber in /proc/cpuinfo steht nur:

nun wollte ich fragen wie ich das ganze wieder rückgängig machen kann?
also wieder 2.4
bzw. was ist da schief gelaufen? habe in den einstellungen gesagt smp.
wenn ich mit knoppix boote sehe ich zwei Tux also kann es nicht an der hardware liegen.
bzw. hat jemand ne ausfürliche anleitung? will mir nicht zu jeder option die hilfe angucken will und da mein englisch nicht das beste ist würde das ewig dauern.
 
einfach mal auf der Konsole top eintippen und nachsehen wieviele Prozessoren angezeigt werden. Sollten bei eingeschalteter SMP-Unterstützung also dann zwei sein.
 
das ganze sieht dann so aus

und beim Mem: stimmt auch was nicht... in dem rechner sind 1408 MB
 
Oder in der Konsole dmesg eintippen. Dort muß dann eine Meldung erscheinen, daß 2 CPUs initialisiert wurden.

Es werden 2 CPUs erkannt.
Was die letzte Fehlermeldung bedeutet, weiß ich nicht.

Außerdem einen HIGHMEM kernel verwenden.

Warum werden überhaupt drei verschiedene Dateisysteme verwendet?
 
wollte mal das xfs testen... habe zwar keine platte die es richtig nutzen kann, aber die müssen ja auch erst noch erfunden werden.

Limit von 1 erreicht, Prozessor ignoriert, schaut doch ganz noch ner falschen kernel config aus, oder?
 
Stimmt, es ist auch kein SMP Kernel. Siehe erste Zeile von dmesg.

ok- habe doch den 2.6er genommen. beim 2.4er gab es probleme beim booten.

jetzt muss ich nur noch ein paar töne aus der kiste kriegen
