Installationsabbruch

Hallo,

ich habe versucht xpdf zu installieren und es ging schief, ok kann passieren. Und zwar hat es libx11-6 gebraucht, aber konnte es nicht installieren. Nun, ich brauche xpdf nicht mehr und brauche libx11-6. Aber egal was ich jetzt installieren will, es bleibt immer an der Installation an libx11-6 hängen/stecken. Wie bekomme ich diese Hürde bzw. Mauer weg?

Ablauf sieht so aus:

Oha ...

Du könntest dir das libx11-6 separat aus dem netz laden und per dpkg (evtl. mit force) installieren und schauen, ob es dann geht.
Evtl. ist das Paket aus dem repository hin?

Hast Du wirklich Debian sarge installiert??? Eine 'obsolete stable release' bei Debian muss ja wirklich sehr, sehr, sehr alt sein!

Vielleicht solltest Du Dich generell erst mal um die 111 Upgrade kümmern ...

Hallo Leute,

Danke für die Antworten. Leider und z. Z. muss sarge eben  . Vorläufig ist es so und sollte auch bleiben. Bei einem apt-get dist-upgrade bekomme ich den gleichen Abbruch. Also generelles upgraden sieht schlecht aus. Direkt herunterladen und per dpkg –i installieren werde ich mal ausprobieren, aber ich bin mir sehr sicher, da ich es bei einer anderen Sache schon mal probiert hatte, wird auch nicht funktionieren. Kann sein dass es da was „zerschießt“. Bloß wie könnte ich es wieder zum Laufen bekommen? Was fällt Euch so ein, was kann man machen?

Die Fehlermeldung sagt Dir, wenn Du sie ganz vorsichtig liest, wie Du Dein Problem behebst. Das 'preinst' Skript erzeugt einen Fehler, weil es bei der Setzung eines Links mit 'ln' die Option '-b' benutzt, die von 'ln' nicht unterstuetzt wird (warum auch immer). Unter Debian Testing sind diese Skripte unter /var/lib/dpkg/info installiert. Schau mal nach, vielleicht kannst Du '-b' einfach loeschen und dann das Paket mit 'dpkg-reconfigure libx11-6' die Konfiguration durchlaufen lassen.
Ungewoehnlich, dass bei einer stabilen Version solch ein Fehler auftritt, deswegen hatte ich nach sarge gefragt und vermutet, dass Du vielleicht Pakete von anderen Version beigemischt hast - in der aktuellen Version von 'ln' gibt es die Option '-b' als Backup.

ich finde das Skript unter /var/lib/dpkg/info nicht. Kann es wo anders sein? Du hast recht, ich habe tatsächlich so ein Mischding aus woody und sarge

Kannst Du libx11-6 nicht einfach erst mal wieder entfernen (z.B. dpkg --purge libx11-6), Dein System auf einen brauchbaren Stand bringen und es nochmal versuchen?

Und das Script sollte schon da sein ... was gibt den "ls /var/lib/dpkg/info/libx11-6*"?

Dann versuch es mal mit '/var/cache/apt/archives/libx11-6_4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge7_i386.deb' (ohne vorher ein apt-get clean' durchzufuehren)! Das koennte das trotz des Fehlers installieren, so dass dann das Skript vorhanden ist und Du es editieren kannst.
