Hallo,
ich bekomme es einfacht hin, Dovecot und postfix richtig zu konfigurieren, damit die beiden zusammenarbeiten.

Meine Configs sehen aktuell so aus:

Kannst du dein Problem etwas spezifischer beschreiben? Was heisst "zusammen arbeiten" für dich? Welche Probleme treten auf? Wie sehen die zugehörigen Log-Meldungen aus?
 
Ich kann mich nicht mit Thunderbird drauf verbinden. Außerdem bin ich mir auch nicht sicher, ob die Benutzer korrekt konfiguriert sind.

Und warum behebst du dann nicht erstmal die Fehler?

Ausserdem solltest du mal log_path für LDA auf eine passende Log-Datei setzen, damit du dort explizit die Fehler deiner Authentifizierung loggen und ggf. weitere Infos bekommen kannst, aus denen ersichtlich ist warum das Auth sonst noch fehlschlagen könnte.

Ok, das Problem war, dass ich in dem gleichen Config Verzeichnis die Datei dovecot.conf.orig drin hatte. Das war die Original Datei, ich hatte sie vorm Ändern kopiert. Ich dachte, wenn man eine andere Änderung anhängt, dann findet er die Datei nicht. Anscheinend aber doch, denn jetzt kommt etwas anderes.

Er findet den Treiber mysql nicht für passdb. Was das heißen soll ist mir klar. Habe ich vielleicht vergessen ein Paket dafür zu installieren? Welche gibt es denn mit Treiber für Dovecot?
 
Vermutlich fehlt dir ein Paket wie dovecot21-backend-mysql (ggf. mit anderer Versionsnummer, ich weiss nicht welche SuSE gerade einsetzt). Schau einfach mal in deiner Software-Verwaltung nach etwas, was so oder ähnlich heisst.

Allerdings lässt sich auch das nur erraten, wenn du uns immer die (original!) Fehlermeldungen vorenthälst.

Kann ich mir kaum vorstellen, schließlich wird doch mal jemand son Teil aufgesetzt haben.

Außerdem es ist nur ein banaler E-Mailserver. Kann doch nicht so schwierig sein soetwas aufzusetzen.

Ich hatte auch mal den dovecot auf den passwd Treiber umgestellt, nicht mal das geht.
 
Sorry, hatte den Thread aus den Augen verloren. Nein, es ist nicht schwierig einen banalen Mailserver aufzusetzen, wenn man die Fehlermeldungen interpretieren kann. Und wer einen Mailserver betreibt sollte das imo können. Fehler wie

auth: Fatal: static userdb: Invalid uid: vmail

sollten einem sofort in's Auge springen. Offenbar gibt es den Benutzer 'vmail' bei dir nicht oder der Mailserver kann die zugehörige UID nicht korrekt auflösen. Und mit dessen Rechten versucht der Mailserver auf die Emails zuzugreifen.

Um rauszubekommen warum der Fehler "Unknown passdb driver 'mysql'" noch immer auftritt obwohl der zugehörige Driver installiert ist, solltest du mal das Debug-Logging von Dovecot aktivieren und schauen ob denn libauthdb_mysql.so überhaupt geladen wird. Und sollte es nicht geladen werden, solltest du schauen ob es sich im richtigen Ordner befindet (normalerweise /usr/lib/dovecot/auth/ o.ä..) also in dem Ordner, aus dem heraus auch alle anderen Module beim Start geholt werden.
