2 Monitore mit KDE

Hiho,

Ich nutze Kubuntu 6.01.06 mit KDE, nun würde ich gerne wieder mit zwei Monitoren arbeiten, also das mein Bildschirm wie bei Windows auf beide Schirme aufgeteilt ist und ich so mehr Platz habe, meine Fenster zu platzieren.

Ich habe dies mit den Einstellungen unter Anzeige versucht, was leider nur zur Folge hatte, dass nach einem Neustart des X Servers die config datei zerschossen war und ich auf dem einen Monitor nur streifen hatte und auf dem anderen gar nichts.

Meine Hardware

Grafikkarte: Geforce FX Go5600

Monitore: 1. Interner Notebookschirm (soll als Primär laufen) (max 1280x800)
2. AcerView F51, wird am Grafikartenausgang angeschlossen (VGA Stecker)(sollte sekundär sein) (max 1024x800)

Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir helfen.

Wenn Du den kommerziellen Nvidia Treiber installierst, hast Du ein Programm nvidia-config oder nvidia-ctl, oder so (habe hier keine nvidia-karte, mit 'nvidia<TAB><TAB>' bekommst Du eine Liste der moegl. Programme), mit dem Du das graphisch erledigen kannst. Unter Linux/KDE funktioniert das wunderbar.

das kommt wenn ich versuche das config prog aufzurufen, allerdings ging das mal da ich damit schonmal meine karte eingerichtet habe.

wie komm ich da wieder ran?

desweiteren kann ich ja die ganze durch nvidia-settings einrichten, komme nur leider durch obig genannten fehler nicht daran
 
Am einfachsten meldest Du Dich gleich als root unter X an und startest dann das Programm von einer Konsole aus.
 
wenn ich mich unter x als root anmelden möchte sagt der mir das das verboten ist.

habe nun mein xserver per ctrl+alt+backspace gekillt,

danach mich als root angemeldet und startx gemacht.

dann konnte ich problemlos nvidia-settings aufrufen, doch leider wird da unter dvices nur der externe monitor aufgezählz, aber nich mein notebook monitor

weis jm rat?

Wenn du in dem Artikel ganz nach unten gehst, da steht wie mans mit einer Karte hinkriegt. Es sind beide Varianten zwei Karten und eine Karte mit zwei Ausgängen.
 
wie ich bereits oben geschildert habe,

gibt es zusammen mit meinem nvidia treiber ein super programm dafür, welches ich gerade verwenden möchte...


//edit : desweiteren habe ich keine dual-head karte sondern nur eine einfache, notebookdisplay und halt noch ein ausgang daher dekne ich fällt diese anleitung flach für mich

Es wäre doch mal jetzt an der Zeit die komplette xorg.conf und das komplette Logfile zu posten, anstatt darüber sich aufzuregen das man noch mal genau nachfragt. Evetuell wäre auch ein Screenshot hilfreich. Treiberversion usw.

Von was möchtest du das Logfile und ein screenshot
 
Ich meinte das Loggfile des Xserver /var/log/Xorg.0.log Und ein Screenshoot von den Nvidia-settings Programm. Denn in der Config kann ich so auf ANhieb keinen Fehler entdecken. ie Ist ja auch nur für einen Monitor.

mit zwei Monitoren arbeiten, also das mein Bildschirm wie bei Windows auf beide Schirme aufgeteilt Grafikkarte: Geforce FX Go5600

suche mal mit den stichworten: xorg.conf nvidia twinview

im bereich *buntu und gentoo hab ich hierzu schon brauchbare wiki-einträge gefunden. allerdings hab ich den eindruck, bringt xorg auch net alles zuverlässig hin.
 
hm das is mir schon kla, ich hab das bereits über die konfiguration versucht.

das ergbnisse steht ja bereits hier im thread. (ein schrim scharz, der andere flackernt)
 
Ich denke mal da wirst du wohl selbst Hand anlegen müssen. Und auch dieses Notebook wird sich ähnlich verhalten wie die Matrox G400 oder jede andere Garafikkarte mit zwaei Anschlüssen nur das einer Intern ist und der andere extern ist. Wenn du mit der Konfig rumexperimentiersr würde ich eine Kopie machen, damit du immer auf die zurückgreiben kannst wenn was schief geht.
