X + Nvidia Problem...

Hallo!
Ich hab ein kleines Problem mit meinem Nvidia Treiber... :help: .. und zwar folgendes:
Wenn ich ihn ganz normal, so wie immer starte, komme ich sofort nach dem bootvorgang in den textmodus. Wenn ich aber dann "/usr/bin/nvidia-installer -f " ausführe, wird der treiber heruntergeladen und installiert, dann kann ich mit kdm ganz einfach den X server starten und alles ist wunderbar, aber nach dem neustart ist alles so wie vorher..

Das Problem klingt nach einen Fehler, den ich auch mal beobachtet habe.
Gib mal aus, was
ls -l /lib/modules/ ausgibt.
Das Nvidiascript hat bei mir mit schöner Regelmäßigkeit die Kernelversion ignoriert, wenn ich es auf einen selbstgebackenen Kernel mit eigener Unterversion installieren wollte.
Der Effekt war genau der gleiche.

Ein simples Kopieren des Modules aus dem vom Installer selbst erzeugten Verzeichnis in das richtige Verzeichnis brachte die Lösung. Ein Softlink geht ebenfalls.

Solltest du bisher nur einen Kernel installiert haben, sollte auch nur ein Unterverzeichnis( deine Kernelversion) im /lib/modules existieren.

Wenn ich einen eigenen Kernel baue, lege ich diesen Link an. Obwohl es eigentlich nichtmal nötig ist.

Welchen Kernel bootest du denn? uname -r

Ich habe hier etwas gefunden, wo es um Versionskonflikte ging.
Ob das bei dir zutrifft kann ich nicht sagen, aber schau es dir selbst mal an:

Die Ausgabe von lsmod könnte auch interessant sein.
- Nachdem du das installscript wieder angeworfen hast und alles läuft!
