Hallo zusammen,

ich bin was die Linux-Administration angeht ein Anfänger. Bisher war ich immer als User unter Unix unterwegs.

Nun ist meine Frage, wie ich die Netzwerkkarte und das DSL unter SUSE 11 so zulaufen kriege, das ich ins Internet komme.

Hi!

Einmal allgemein, hast du einen DHCP-Server oder musst du deine IP manuell eingeben?
Wenn du einen DHCP-Server verwendest, scheint deine NW-Karte nicht konfiguriert zu sein, wenn du statische IP verwendest musst du die wie always-godlike bereits sagte unter Yast > Hardware > Netzwerkkarte einstellen!

Hi,

meine Netzwerkkarte wurde erkannt und ich gehe über DSL-Modem ans Netz. Zwischen dem DSL-Modem und der Netzwerkkarte ist ein Switch. Beide sond mit einem LAN-Kabel verbunden.

Unter XP klappt das prima. Nur von Linux / UNIX habe ich keine tiefere Kenntniss ich bin bisher immer nur als User auf dem System herum gerutscht. D. H. ich kann auf der Konsole arbeiten aber mir fehlen administrative Kenntnisse.

Ich habe nämlich nur Linux auf dem Rechner.
inet Adresse und Maske habe ich testweise mittles Yast statisch eingegeben. Sie können also nach belieben gelöscht usw. werden.

Der Artikel über Windows war interessant. Nur ich habe kein Windows auf dem Rechner er läuft ausschießlich mit LINUX und im BIOS habe ich auch keinen hinweis auf "Wake Up On LAN" gefunden.

Ich kann den Linux-Rechner von Windows-Rechner aus mit einem Ping erreichen aber vom Linux Rechner geht kein Ping zum Windows-Rechner. Ergo scheint das Problem bei der Linux-Konfiguration zu sein. Weiter bin ich mit meinem Wissen noch nicht.

Zur weiteren Info ich habe zwei Rechner. Einen auf dem ausschließlich Linux und einen auf dem ausschließlich Windows läuft. Mein Ziel ist es, den Windows-Rechner eines schönen Tages zu verschrotten.
