nVidia-Treiber installieren klappt nicht

Hi,
seit letztem Wochenende bin ich nun stolzer Besitzer von Suse Linux 10.1 :)

Bisher habe ich auch eigentlich alles alleine hinbekommen, bloß diese dummen nVidia-Treiber krieg ich nicht installiert.
Ich besitze eine GeForce FX 5700 Graka.

Folgendermaßen bin ich vorgegangen:
- Ich habe diesen Treiber heruntergeladen (x86)
- Ich habe mich als root angemeldet
- Ich habe die Pakete "kernel-source", "gcc" und "make" installiert
- Ich habe den Runlevel 3 geladen
- ...und schließlich wollte ich /root/Desktop/NVIDIA ausführen, aber jedes mal erscheint "Permission denied"

Ich frag mich, was man eigentlich noch alles beachten muss ! :think:

Btw, hab ich auch noch 'ne 2. Frage, die den Fenstermanager unter Gnome betrifft. Der lädt nämlich nach der normalen Benutzeranmeldung (Ich hab nur einen Benutzer [=Ich]) extrem lange. Ich weiß nicht, ob das mit ein paar Einstellungen zu tun hat, da ich einfach zu viel dran rumgespielt hab. ^_^"
Deswegen meld ich mich jetzt öfter als root an, da's hier einfach schneller geht.

Kann man die Zugriffsrechte nicht auch irgendwo voreinstellen?

Übrigens hat sich das Gnome-Lade-Problem gerade von selbst behoben, dafür ist aber ein anderes freundlicherweise an seine Stelle getreten. ;-)

Nachdem die Treiber-Installation abgeschlossen war, hab ich sax2 -m 0=nvidia in die Konsole eingegeben (wie es mir irgendwo auch so gezeigt wurde) und neugestartet. Beim ersten Ausführen von SaX2 erschien die Fehlermeldung "ZMD wird anscheinend nicht ausgeführt" - welche allerdings kein zweites mal auftrat.
Außerdem erscheint beim Start eines dieser tollen vorinstallierten Spiele immer noch die Meldung "Unterstützung für 3D-Hardware nicht verfügbar".
Was behebt dieses Problem?

voreinstellen der Berechtigungen? keine Ahnung.

Poste doch bitte mal deine /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Vielleicht liegts auch daran, normal muss nach der installation dieses ausgeführt werden.

sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia (also mit option r)

Hmm, ich kenne mich mit der Linux-Konsole noch so gut wie gar nicht aus.
Kannst du mir z. B. sagen wofür dieses -r oder -m steht?

Btw, warum muss ich eigentlich den Datei-Browser verwenden und kann nicht die Konsole dafür nehmen? Immer dieses "Permission denied" - trotz root.

Für -r -m gib einfach mal sax2 --help ein.

Möglicherweise musst noch Sax 2 aufrufen und einen haken für 3d unterstützung setzen.

Ich will nicht nerven, aber wie kann ich Linux "überreden" die 3D-Hardware zu erkennen. Die Treiber sind installiert und laufen soweit problemlos.
Es fehlt halt bloß noch irgendwo ein entsprechender Eintrag.
 
Versuch es mal mit YAST-Hardware-Grafikkarte und Monitor.
 
Ja, ich hab die nVidia-Einstellungen bereits alle gecheckt.
Sowohl über SaX2 als auch Anwendungen/System/Weitere Programme/NVIDIA X Server Settings
Das Häkchen für 3D-Beschleunigung ist übrigens schon gesetzt.
Das Problem ist halt bloß, dass ich nicht weiß, was den Fehler verursacht !

Ich werde noch mal etwas googlen ... :hilfe2:
 
Prüf mal ob die 3d-Beschleunigung wirklich aktiviert ist durch

Was soll ich sagen?
Das Grafiksystem ist beim Start ziemlich abgeschmiert.
Gut, dass ich ein Backup gemacht hatte! :rolleyes:

Gibt es vielleicht noch andere riskante Möglichkeiten, die das Adrenalin so richtig ansteigen lassen? ;)

Nebenbei hab ich mal noch das Paket compat-expat1 installiert.
...und irgendwo wurde von einem kernel-header geredet. Was ist das und brauch ich das?
 
So, ich hab jetzt mal diesen Treiber installiert.
Bei dem anderen scheint es sich um eine Beta-Version gehandelt zu haben.

Nun ja, die Fehlermeldung ist verschwunden dafür wird das Spiel X-Moto immer noch nicht gestartet. Also es erscheint ein schwarzer Bildschirm und gleich danach ist man wieder auf dem Desktop. Ach, wie schade ... :(

[EDIT] Kleiner Nachtrag:
Ich habe scheinbar auch ein Problem mit meinem Monitor (FLATRON L1952S), dieser geht nur bei Ausführung eines dieser Linux-Spiele fast aus. Also er wird sehr dunkel, ist aber nach ca. 10 Sekunden wieder da. Dieses Phänomen tritt in sehr unterschiedlichen Zeitabständen auf (meist alle 10-20 Minuten). Und das nur bei Spielen ! Das Problem existierte allerdings schon vor der nVidia-Treiberinstallation; somit gehe ich mal davon aus, dass der Treiber des Monitors Fehlerverursacher ist. Da hab ich bisher aber keinen für Linux gefunden ...

[EDIT_2] DPMS deaktivieren konnte das Problem auch nicht beheben ...
[EDIT_3] Nö, Treiber ist Linux für diesen Monitor eigentlich bekannt ...

Ich weiß zwar nicht warum, aber als root klappt alles wunderbar.
Na ja, fast. Der Bildschirm wird immer noch ab und zu ziemlich dunkel.
Wenn mir da vielleicht noch jemand 'nen Rat geben könnte, dem würd ich doch glatt mal Danke sagen ! :)) :D
