Hallo an alle,

ich habe mir einen Smarthost eingerichtet.

Dieser Smarthost hat eine permanete IP-Adress im Internet, holt aber die Emails bei einem Rootserver via fetchmail ab.
Leider gehen Emails verlohren, d.h. einige externe Domains können mir keine Emails schicken,
zumindest erhalte ich die Emails nicht. Komischerweise gibt es auch kein Mail Delivery Failer.

Habe ich falsch konfiguriert?

Ich habe in der main.cf die Variable myhostname auf den Namen des externen Smarthost gesetz,
da ich glaubte das sei sicherer.
Für die Domain gibt es nämlich einen MX Record für meinen externen Mailservern, für den Smarthost nicht.

Ist das der Grund warum einige Emails "verlohren" gehen?

Zusatzfrage:
Wo ich schon einmal hier bin, weiß jemand wo ich den Text für eine Mail Delivery Failer EMail ändern kann, in welcher Datei etc? Ich will nämlich für eine virtuelle Domain eine eigene Mail Delivery Failer Mail anlegen.

Hallo,

gehen die E-Mails bei dem fetchmail verloren oder beim SMTP einliefern?
Hast du auch einen festen DNS - Eintrag oder einen DynDNS o.ä.. Ich habe das gleiche Problem schon mal gehabt bei o2 - dyndns-Account.

ja, richtig, ich habe einen dyndns.org client am laufen. aber eigentlich brauche ich den nur um per ssh auf den rechner zu kommen.
der domainname ist registriert und bei der denic hinterlegt, mit allem pi-pa-po.

ob fetchmail oder postfix die emails verliert kann ich nicht sagen.
aber es ist so: wenn die domain, deren emails an mich verloren gehen, zuerst die emails an mein gmx account sendet und ich diese email weiterleite an meine externe domain, diese dann mit fetchmail abhole, dann erreicht mich die email (ueber gmx als zusaetzlichen hopp).
nur der direkte weg geht - bei einigen emails - nicht. ;)

koennte der fehler auch bei dem provider - der den root-server administriert - liegen?
 
von welchen domains verschwinden denn die emails?

kenne postfix zwar nicht in- und auswendig, so das ich aufn ersten blick einen fehler im auszug deiner config finden würde,... habs deshalb auch direkt mal bleiben lassen da reinzuschauen *g*
aber die logs von fetchy und postfix wären mal ganz interessant... bzw. hilfreich...
