Hallo,
ich, Linuxneuling, versuche unter Debian-Linux eine Grafikkarte, NVIDIA NX 6600, zu installieren. Nach Stunden langen suchen in Foren und googlen in den letzte beiden Tagen bin ich ja schon etwas weiter gekommen, aber zu meinem jetzigen Problem konnte ich einfach keine Lösung finden. Nach dem die "Kernel module compilation complete." ist, laut log-file des nvidia-installers, bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung: "Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'."
Mein System:
Debian Linux 3.1 AMD64
Kernelversion: 2.6.8-11-amd64-k8
Grafikkarte: NVIDIA NX 6600
von NVIDIA das File NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-7676-pkg2.run zum installieren.
Was ich schon gemacht habe ist:
- die kernel-headers-2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 installiert
- die kernel-source-2.6.8 installiert und entpackt
Ich bekomme erst eine Warnung:
dann compiliert der installer wohl und bricht dann mit der Fehlermeldung ab (aus dem log-file):
Sollte ich den Kernel erst einmal aktualisieren, wegs der Warnung?
Ich hoffe ihr könnt mir helfen.

Sollte ich den Kernel erst einmal aktualisieren, wegs der Warnung?
