X-Server startet nicht nach abgebrochenem Update

Ich nutze Suse 10.2.
Letztens habe ich ein update mitendrin abgebrochen. Beim nächsten Reboot startete der X-Server nicht mehr. Außerdem meldete Grub das die Datei /boot/message ein falsches Dateiformat hat (Grub funktioniert aber). (hd 0,6: invalid file format: /boot/message). Ich habe bereits versucht ein weiteres Update durchzuführen was auch funktionierte das Problem aber nicht beseitigte. Außerdem versuchte ich das Paket xorg-x11 neu zu installieren, ebenfalls kein Effekt.

Lass doch einfach mal sax2 durchlaufen. Außerdem mal X mit dem Befehl startx starten und gucken was für Fehlermeldungen kommen.

hm... die ist doch eigentlich beim Boot-Menü involviert (das gfx-menu zumindest, nicht das textbasierte) ? Gibt es keine relevanten Backups, die beim Update evtl. erzeugt wurden? Bzw. vielleicht ist ja eben ein neues Grub installiert worden, aber genau die noch nicht aktualisiert gewesen, weshalb es (noch) kein Backup gab und sie nun stört?

Sonst evtl. von der Install-CD/DVD booten und Grub neu installieren? Und danach das Update noch mal..?

@jabo: grub reinstallieren bringt auch nix das hab ich bereits versucht.

setz mal den gfxtreiber in deiner xorg.conf von 'nvidia' auf 'nv' zum testen...

gibt ja offensichtlich ein problem mit deinem nvidia kernel module...

In der Fehlermeldung steht ganz klar das es Probleme mit den Modulen gibt!

Du solltest vielleicht auch erstmal die Fehlermeldung lesen bevor du sie im Forum postest!
(Genau das müssten wir nämlich auch tun!)

Vielleicht wärst du selber auf die Lösung (wenn schon nicht Lösung dann vielleicht auf google Suchwörter!) gekommen!
Ein bisschen Eigeninitiative kann verlangt werden und ist gerne gesehen!
(außerdem lernst du mehr!)
