    hi leute

    ich hab versucht die treiber meiner nvidia karte mx/mx 400 zu installieren.
    das ging schief

    dann hab ich ein thread darüber gefunden
    link: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/6192/#41940

    hab alles deinstalliert und die modul und lib ordner von nvidia gelöscht

    dann hab ich die installation erneut versucht und beim starten von gnome bleibt er hängen
    ich kann zwar die maus bewegen aber es öffnet sich kein einziges fenster und der treiber funktioniert auch nicht.

    bin für jede hilfe dankbar

    aber ich würde doch gern noch erfahren wie man den besch...* nvidia treiber installiert

    Anleitungen zum Installieren des Nvidia-Treibers gibts ja zuhauf im Netz. Was gibt dir denn die Xorg.0.log aus, wenn du den NVidia-Treiber nutzt?

    eben, allerdings solltest du -legacy benutzen

    Ausser du hast Xfree86 natürlich, dann ohne legacy

    Der Legacy Treiber ist für ältere Karten, diese sollte aber noch vom neuen unterstützt werden. Du könntest den Treiber ja mal manuell installieren.

    Hallo,

    in der Log Datei ist ein Wacom Tablett eingetragen. Hast du ein Grafiktablett?

    Ich bin auch im Besitz eines WACOM Graphire4 und habe ein ähnliches Problem seit ich versucht habe mit Ubuntu eine Multihead konfiguration (-> Zweischirmbetrieb) zum laufen zu bringen allerdings bei mir auf einer ATI X850Pro mit den ATI - Treibern.

    Mein Problem äußert sich folgendermaßen:

    Wenn ich Ubuntu starte kann ich mich noch anmelden, der Window Manager startet doch sobald er vollständig geladen ist friert er ein und reagiert nicht mehr auf eingaben. Ein X Server Neustart mit <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Backspace> zeigt auch keine Wirkung. Im abgesicherten Gnome Modus tut sich auch nichts.
    Die einzige möglichkeit ein Grafisches System zu starten ist der in GRUB vorhandene Recovery Mode. "startx" als root funktioniert hier problemlos...

    Wäre toll wenn sich jemand der sich mit der Materie auskennt dem Problem annehmen könnte...
