selektieren mit der maus problemhaft

ich kann nicht mehr sauber mit meiner maus selektieren.
wenn ich es versuche, wird erst zwei buchstaben weiter oder überhaupt nicht selektiert. wenn ich die schiebebalken verschieben möchte, muss ich auf einmal exact in der bahn bleiben.
habe heute versucht, 5 windows-spiele hier zu installieren, habe dafür einmal x.org usversehen für einen angeblich besseren grafiktreiber aufgegeben.
nun sollte alles wieder beim alten sein...aber ist nicht. wo kann ich was übersehen haben?

1. Warum benutzt du für Windows-Spiele nicht einfach Windows, wenn du sie offenbar in grossen Menge nutzt?
2. Wie sieht deine xorg.conf aus und was hast du für eine Maus?
3. Hast du mal in den Gnome-Einstellungen die Maus-Einstellungen überprüft?
 
@1) ich spiele sie sogut wie nie, habe mich dem prgrammieren verschrieben.
wollte eig nur eins über lan spielen, welches, war mir egal. aber keines hatte funktioniert. (solange probiert, bis ich verstanden hatte, dass es nicht klappt ;-) )

@3) damit kenne ich mich nicht aus, man muss mir sagen, wo so etwas ist.

@2) ich habe eine 'normale' maus. nicht usb, sondern über den standardstecker. sonst auch die, die ich normalerweise am rechner sehe. falls produktbeschreibung nötig, bitte schreiben.

Wenn du keinen Tablet-PC hast, solltest du mal den ganzen wacom-Kram rauswerfen. Ausserdem kannst du mal /dev/psaux als Device für deine Maus probieren, wenn es eine PS/2-Maus ist.
