Problem mit der Bildschirmauflösung

    Hi,

    Habe mir gerade Ubuntu 7.10 neu draufgepackt und erstmal die Grafikkartentreiber (Radeon X1950) installiert. Funktioniert alles wunderbar.
    Allerdings kann ich die passende Bildschirmauflösung nicht einstellen. Hätte gernde eine Auflösung von 1680x1050 pixel. Die kann ich aber unter "System -> Einstellungen -> Bildschirmauflösung" nicht einstellen. Unter "Auflösung" finde ich viele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten von 720x576 bis 1280x1024 pixel.
    Was ich mich auch nicht verwundert ist, dass in meiner xorg.conf 1680x1050 pixel angegeben sind.

    Schau doch mal in /var/log/Xorg.0.log nach, ob Dein Monitor diese Aufloesung ueberhaupt unterstuetzt bzw. X das glaubt. Am besten suchst Du nach '1680'.

    Mein Monitor unterstützt diese Auflösung aufjedenfall. In der Xorg.0.log finde ich auch desöfteren diese Auflösung (Kenne mich damit jetzt nicht ganz so gut aus..).
    Das merkwürdige ist ja, dass ich diese Auflösung früher (vor der neuinstallation) benutzt habe. - Ohne Probleme. :think:

    Klappt auch nicht. Er verändert zwar die Bildschirmauflösung, die gewünschte ist allerdings nicht dabei.

    Ja habe ich. gleiches Problem wie vorher. Verdammt. :think:

    Hmm, wenn ich mir das so anschau würd ich dir mal vorschlagen, dass du in deine xorg.conf ne Modeline für die Auflösung reinpackst:
