NVIDIA gfc kmp big smp lässt sich nicht installieren

Hi Ho

Bin gerade dabei den Treiber für Nvidia Grfaikkarten zu installieren. Habe schon den X11-video.nvidia installiert bekommen. Yast zeigt mir auch den Nvidia gfx kmp -bigsmp kernel an doch dann kommt die Meldung:

Es sind keine installierbaren Anbieter von kernel (drivers) == md5 summe nvidia-gfx-kmp-bigsmp-1.0.8762_2.6.16.21

wobei ich genau diesen treiber auf meiner Festpaltte habe. bzw auch diesen auf der Download page von Nvidia gibt habe es alles nach den HowTo gemacht doch er lädt sich diesen treiber nicht herunter habe es schon verwsucht die datein auf cd zu brennnen und dann die Installationsquelle zu wechseln und z:b auf dem lokalne verzeichnis zu zu greifen alles hat nichts gebracht was kan nich nun machen?

warum machst du kein online update unter yast??
da den button für nvidea treiber anklicken und fertig!
yast macht dann alles alleine evt. mußt nur noch bei sax2 die 3D funktion aktivieren.

Also der versuch mit dem Online Update ist fehlgeschlagen ist ja das selber wie mit "Software Installieren oder löschen"

Nvidia Treiber

was willst du denn installieren?? Grafikkarte?? Nforce?? kann diesen treiber nicht finden!

Wenn du einen grafikkarten - treiber installieren möchtest lade dir die richtige Bit version runter (32Bit oder 64Bit Treiber). Die datei muß die endung *.run haben!
Dann installiere es in der shell! gebe als root init 3 ein, und dann sh treiberdatei (+ evtl. Pfadangabe).
nach erfolgreicher installation würde ich sax2 eingeben um deine 3d funktion zu aktivieren.

bei allen anderen Nvidia treibern genau das gleiche nur init 3 ist evtl. nicht von nöten.

Bei Nvidia gibt es nur "bündeltreiber" quasi ein treiber für mehrere Grafikkarten!

Das ist mir bis jetzt schon alles bekannt. so weit war ich schon doch dann kommt die Meldung das er eine header Datei nicht finden kann und brucht ab. Diese header datei ist meines wissen in der big smp von nvidia.
die genaue Meldung werde ich heute abend psoten habe sie nun leider nicht hier .. :-(

Hallo CyroX,

hast Du das Paket kernel-source installiert. Wenn ja, geh nach /usr/src/linux und gib dort den Befehl make cloneconfig ein. Dadurch werden deine Kernelsourcen identisch zum laufenden Kernel konfiguriert und der Fehler müsste weg sein.

Ich kann mich aber auch irren, das kommt jetzt gerade aus dem Gedächtnis.

dann kam dort Building kernel...
und dnan kam die Meldung

Hast du auch die Kernelsources installiert?
Wenn nicht, einfach in yast-software nach kernel suchen und diese installieren.

ja der kernel source wurde installiert doch er hat abgebrochen bei 80% circa es war aber als verzeichnis zu sehen habe dann den Befehl make cloneconfig eingeben. Hat auch was gemacht was weiß ich nicht aber nach 2 minuten war er fertig ;-)
wenn ihr die log datei braucht sagt bescheid.

Habe mein system ja nun total zerschossen gehabt und da ich leider keine antworten auf die Fehlermeldung bekommen habe, entschloss ich mich Linux zu formatieren und neu zu installieren.

Stand der Dinge:
Habe den kernel-source 100% installieren können.
Wechsel dann mit dem init 3 befehl ind die Konsole
mounte meine CD mit dem Treiber NVIDIA-Linux-x86....7174 (ist der aktuelste Treiber für meine NIVIDIA TNT 2 Grafikkarte)
Also mit dem Befel SH NIVIDIA... ausgeführt

Da im den Tutorial auch drinn steht das die aktivieren der 3D engine nicht gesehn werden kann bzw aber dennoch installiert sein kann, habe ich ein 3D Game sinatlliert aber auch das Spiel gab mir zu verstehen das ist nicht isntalliert worden ist
was nun?

Da steht sicherlich irgendwo, warum ... IMHO schreibt auch der Nvidia-Installer ein Log-File ...

Habe es nun endlich geschafft der Fehler lag an der Falschen Treiber Version!
Ein kompatibler Treiber war der NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7182-pkg1.run !
