Netzwerkproblem nach Update

Hallo zusammen,
nachdem ich gestern mein Fedore Core 6 upgedatet habe, fährt die eth0 nicht mehr automatisch hoch, es kommt die Meldung beim Start:

Schnittstelle eth0 hochfahren: sysfs class device: Permission denied
Fehler, ein anderer Rechner verwendet bereits die Adresse 192.168.x.x

Wenn der Rechner hochgefahren ist, kann ich aber das Netzwerk schon wieder sofort starten. Welches Programm mischt sich hier ein?
Der Rechner hängt im Moment als einziger dran. Einen anderen gibt es nicht.
Aber selbst, wenn ich ihm eine andere Adresse zuteile, bekomme ich beim nächsten Mal starten die gleiche Meldung beim Hochfahren mit der geänderten Adresse.
So ein Mist.
Selbst die /var/log/messages gibt nix aus, was verdächtig ist.
Wie kann ichd das beheben?

sysfs class device permission denied

Hallo,

habe auf Fedora Core 6 nach dem automatischen Update heute (10.04.2007)
das gleiche Problem.
Die Netzwerkschnittstelle startet nicht.
Es wird der Fehler sysfs class device permission denied im syslog angezeigt.
Auf dem Rechner läuft lediglich Apache und TWiki, es wurde kaum etwas konfiguriert. Neustart von eth0 oder eth1 funktioniert zwar, doch nach kurzer Zeit ist der Rechner wieder offline und die eth0/eth sind deaktiviert.
Woran kann das liegen?

Help! After updating Fedora Core 6 on April, 10th, 2007 the network interface is down after reboot. It can be restarted, but after a few seconds, it is down again. The log entry says, that the IP was given to another machine already.
This is definitely not the case, as before the update it worked.
How can I fix this? Which RPM causes this behavior?

I have two NICs, a 100 MBit/s and a Gigabit Ethernet one.

The hosts file was messed up with an IPv6 entry:
::1 localhost.localdomain
I changed "::1" to "127.0.0.1" after the problems associated with the update.

This did not help.

Schaltet mal bitte eure nicht genutzen Schnittstellen ab, und vergebt die IPs statisch. Deaktiviert dabei bitte auch IPv6 sofern nicht genutzt wird sowie den DHCP abschalten (was eigentlich mit statischer vergabe der Ip passiert) alles dies ist unter

system-config-network

zu schalten.

This bug is addressed today in Bugzilla as Bug#235807

The bug is due to a problem with the "arping" command that is part of the iputils package. The selinux policy currently in testing fixes the problem.

Hi NYLYTE,

thx for the hint. I got the fix and rebooted.

Eth0 was still down after reboot, however, I did not get error msgs.

The dmesg shows a different view compared with system-network-configuration GUI: the interface's MAC IDs seem to be swapped ?!
From the beginning I had networking issues while setting up FC6.
After install with PXE over eth0 (=100Mbit NIC), eth0 refused to work and I had to use eth1 (=1GB NIC).
Deactivating eth0 manually was not good idea - routing and/or DNS scripts seem to be screwed.
Next time I will do it completely manually, no half-baked GUI-frontends anymore.
OK, I have to be fair: people volunteering at the fedora project do a terrific job. Its a development thing -so one should not expect it to work seemlessly in a productive environment.

Now I just have to redo my adaptions to SE policies :/

A reboot later it worked. But basically, I do have the same problem.
Eth0 is not activated properly after boot

Also jetzt habe ich seit zwei Tagen ein neues Update einspielen lassen.
Und jetzt funktioniert das automatische Starten der eth0 wieder.
Keine Ahnung was beim alten Update schief gelaufen ist.
Habe mir aber so abgeholfen, daß ich es eben per Hand startete.
