Kubuntu, Nvidia 3d Beschleunigung, KDM

    Hallo Forum,

    ich habe folgendes Problem: wenn ich mein Kubuntu 8.04 System per KDM oder StartX starte, wird der CS-Nvidia Treiber nicht richtig gestartet. Es handelt sich sowohl um den restricted-modules, den Envy oder auch den NVIDIA-Download Treiber. Per NV oder VESA Treiber funktioniert alles bestens. Starte ich mit NVIDIA per xinit -> kdesktop -> kicker etc. dann ist die 3d Beschleunigung auch aktiv, nur beim automatischen KDE-Start per startx oder KDM nicht. Der CS-NVIDIA Treiber ist lt. Setup auch korrekt installiert. Ich sehe auch beim KDM-Start das NVidia Logo, Xrandr bringt ein Exception fault und der nvidia-settings Manager bringt "es ist kein Treiber aktiv".

    Ich habe das System von 7.10 auf 8.04 geupdatet, leider kein Erfolg, selbes Problem. Ich vermute es hat was mit restern des besch*** ati-CS-Treibers zu tun. Vorher hatte ich eine ATI Karte am "laufen". Habe allerdings alles, was mit FGLRX oder ATI zu tun hat gelöscht.

    Kann mir einer sagen wo der Unterschied zwischen dem Manuellen Start per xinit... liegt und dem automatischen Start per KDM/StartX?

    Bin schon lange zufriedener Linuxer aber ich kapiere hier irgendwas nicht.

    Keiner eine Idee? Mit würde es schon reichen wenn ihr mir sagt, wo ich vernünftige LOGs finde die ein wenig aussagekräftig sind....

    Hast du auch die entsprechenden Treiber geblacklistet, wenn du den CS-Treiber manuell installiert hast? (s.h. ubuntuusers-wiki)

    Was steht in deiner xorg.conf unter Device Section bei Driver?

    Wenn alles "korrekt" ist, muesste da "nvidia" stehen.
    Und noch mal die Frage, ob du die entsprechenden Eintraege in der blacklist gemacht hast, damit es da keine Probleme gibt.

    Eure Hilfsbereitschaft in allen Ehren, aber vielleicht solltet ihr euch nochmal den Thread durchlesen.

    Zusammengefasst: bei Xinit gibts 3d, bei KDM oder StartX nicht. Warum Display 1 angesteuert werden weis ich nicht, das ist ja gerade das Problem. Welche Dateien werdem im StartX Script angearbeitet? Vieleicht hat der FGLRX da was zerschossen...

    Mit dem blacklisten hats meines Wissens nach nix zu tun, denn der Treiber funktioniert per Xinit Tadellos und kann auch absolut fehlerfrei ge-"modprobe"-d werden...

    Ich Installier allerdings deshalb nicht ein funktionierendes System neu, das würde vieleicht schneller gehen aber kanns auch nicht wirklich sein.
    Außerdem bildet es ungemein, solchen Problemen auf die Spur zu gehen.

    So, für alle die Radikale Lösung des Problems:

    # Nvidia Treiber deinstallieren
    sh NVIDIA-INSTALLER --uninstall

    # Xserver vollständig löschen, inklusive aller Konfigurationsdateien
    apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg*

    # Wenn Warnungen beim löschen auftreten, dann die Probleme mit der Hand beheben

    #Xserver neu installieren
    apt-get install xserver-xorg

    Okay, das Problem ist damit erstmal behoben, danke für eure Mühe auch wenn ich nicht weis was los war. Laut Xsession-error LOG konnte er XGL nicht richtg laden.
