Grafikleistung unter Ubuntu 10.10 ziemlich schlecht

Hallo Leute,

ich habe da so ein kleines Problem mit meinem Netbook:
Die Grafikkarte (Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller) bringt nicht annähernd die Leistung, die sie bringen sollte.
Das ganze Problem äußert sich vor allem bei einzelnen Games (SuperTuxKart, SuperTux), welche einfach nicht spielbar sind (früher habe ich diese ebenfalls unter Linux problemlos spielen können).
Auch "glxgears" bringt mir nur ca. 60 Frames (ich weiß, glxgears != Benchmark; allerdings kamen da früher über 400FPS rüber...).
Meine Frage ist nun: Wo kann der Fehler liegen? Ich habe das Gefühl, dass die Grafikbeschleunigung nicht recht funktioniert; obwohl der Intel Treiber aus den Repositories installiert ist (wurde früher ebenfalls verwendet).
Des weiteren würde mich interessieren, wo ich die Module (welche früher über die xorg.conf geladen wurden), in der neuen Xorg-Version zu laden sind.

Fehler finde ich in dieser auch nur Einer, wobei dieser durch meine Logitech Maus verursacht wird; also unwichtig.

ohne Pageflipping wirst du da kaum spaß haben

Wie du das ohne xorg.conf einstellst weiß ich allerdings nicht, ich mag udev autoconfig magie mit voodo nicht.
 
Habe mir jetzt nochmal eine Xorg.conf generieren lassen (X -configure).
Wie kann ich ihm nun sagen, dass er das PageFlipping aktiviert?
An der Version der libdrm habe ich händisch nichts geändert. Sollte ich die mal besser in einer neuen Version nachinstallieren?
 
Sieht schlecht aus, es scheint so als hätten sie Page Flipping rausgepatcht http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-x@lists.debian.org/msg98536.html wies aussieht war der treiber zu instabil mit page flipping.

Allerdings ist das performance mäßig ein riesen Schlag ins gesicht, ich weiß zwar nicht einmal genau welche Graka du hast, aber mit dem Patch würd ich mir nicht viele Hoffnungen machen. Den intel Treiber selber ohne den Patch zu kompilieren unter ubuntu ist doch etwas anstrengend, aber ich seh im Moment nicht, wie man da leicht drum herum kommt.
 
Ich habe PageFlipping nun aktiviert, wobei es meiner Meinung nach keine Unterschiede macht. :(

Verwendet wird übrigens eine Intel GMA 950, verbaut in einem MSI Wind U100 Netbook.
Hat zufällig jemand die gleiche Grafikkarte mit ähnlichen Gegebenheiten (Netbook, Ubuntu 10.10, ...) und wäre bereit irgend einen Benchmark zu starten, damit man evtl. mal die Leistung der beiden Systeme vergleichen kann? Vielleicht sind meine Ansprüche auch einfach nur zu hoch... (Wobei ich meine, dass diese "Grafikkarte" wirklich mal mehr konnte :think:)
 
Ich denk wenn sie Pageflipping dezidiert rauspatchen wirst du mit einem Eintrag in der xorg.conf nicht weit kommen. Oder steht jetzt in der Xorg.0.log, das es jetzt aktiviert ist?
 
Der "fix" mit dem page flipping ist ja nur ein workaround, der zwar die freezes beseitigt, aber die Grafikleistung komplett versaut. Bei einer Intel grafikkarte erwartet anscheinend sowieso niemand gute Performance.
