[Fedora7]XServer stürtzt beim abmelden/runterfahren/runlevelwechseln ab!

    Habe seit einer Woche Fedora7(x86-64) auf meinem Pc
    (C2D E6600, 2GbRAM,Nforce 650i,geforce 7900GT) installiert,
    die installation ging ohne Probleme von statten (alle updates geladen, livna quellen hinzugefügt nvidia Treiber installiert usw.).
    Jetzt stürtzt der X-Server immer ab wenn ich mich abmelde, den Pc runterfahre oder in der Konsole das Runlevel wechel.
    Das gleiche Problem tritt bei meinem 3 Jahre alten Pentium M Notebook (andere Hardware, andere Installations DVD) auf.
    Unter Debian und mit diversen Live CDs haben beide Pcs einwandfrei funktioniert.
    Ich weiß nicht wie ich das beheben könnte?(

    Ach so,
    beim updaten ist wahrscheinlich ein neuer Kernel installiert worden.
    Installiere den nvidia Treiber einfach nochmal neu, dann müsste es klappen.

    Ich bin miir zwar sicher das ich den Treiber erst nach dem Kernel Update installiert habe,
    hab aber trotzdem probiert was du gesagt hast.
    Als der Treiber wieder weg war lief alles normal (abmelden, runterfahren, runlevelwechseln).
    Nach der treiber neuinstallation hat auch alles funktioniert, bis ich die DesktopEffekte (Compiz) aktiviert habX(.
    Is ja nicht so schlim dacht ich mir, schalt ich die eben vorm abmelden Compiz aus, das führte allerdings auch zum absturtz des X-Servers.

    Ja ja Compiz ist nicht stable.
    Machs dir einfach und installiere einfach nvidia nochmal neu.
    Hab selber ne 7900 gs, daher weiss ich das diese noch nicht ganz mit Linux Kompatible sind.

    Den Treiber nochmal neu zu installieren ist nicht notwendig, wenn compiz aus ist geht ja wieder alles.
    Komisch ist nur, dass das Problem bei dem Pentium M Notebook (nvidia go fx5300) auch auftritt und beide Systeme mit Beryl+AIGLX@debian&Gentoo und Compiz+XGL@Suse schon gefuntzt haben.
    Dann werd ich wohl erstmal auf den Cube verzichten müssen, vielleicht funtzt es irgentwann wenn CompizFusion in die Repos fließt.
    Soll das eigentlich erst mit Feora 8 passieren, oder kann es sein das es vorher schon kommt?

    So der Linux Meiser bin ich auch nicht.
    (eher Erfahrener Anwender<- sind wir das nicht alle ;))

    doch unter System->Nvidia X Server Settings-> GPUs: Unknown (GPU 0) z.B: kannst du sehen das es noch nicht so richtig mit den 7900 funktioniert.

    Bei mir wird die wie in bisher allen Distributionen die ich verwende/verwendet habe richtig erkannt, sogar der Temperatur Sensor wird ausgelesen.
    Bist du sicher das du den aktuellen Treiber hast?
    Hab mal ein Bild gemacht.
    Nur der Monitor wird als CRT statt als TFT erkannt, dafür liest der Treiber den Monitor Hersteller und das Modell über ein VGA Kabel aus, unter Windoof hat das nie gefuntzt.
