DualScreen/xinerama > Nur in Clone Modus

Hey,

ich versuche ganze zeit mein 2ten Bildschirm als "erweiterten Desktop" einzusetzen.

Da dachte ich mir, starte ich sax2 und konfiguriere alles. Doch dann wurde ich schon schockiert >

Normalerweise wie ich es kenne, sollten da "display 1" und "display 2" stehen. Aber ich machte mir nichts drauß und aktivierte trotzdem "Dual-Head Modus".

Danach klickte ich auf "konfigurieren" und da erscheint dies >

Also dachte ich es wär alles Ok. Ich startete X neu. Ohne erfolg, immer noch clone modus. Also startete ich PC neu, und auch dies erfolglos > clone-modus.

Also googelte ich etwas und fand irgendwas das von wegen compiz/xgl kein xinerama könnte. Doch hab ich kein compiz/xgl aktiviert.

Also nahm ich mir die xorg.conf zu hand und schaute sie mir an >

Das was ich BOLD makiert habe, macht mich skeptisch. Normalerweise müsste da doch "on" stehen oder nicht? Jedenfalls hab ich dort per hand "on" hingeschrieben. Mit dem ergebnis das ich nach einem Neustart mein Notebook TFT in 4 bereiche hatte, schwer leserlich und (ich schätze mal) in 256 farben.

Dann nutzte ich die SuFu und fand von doc angepriesende Gentoo wiki >

Doch half mir das auch nicht weiter ?(

Kann mir einer dabei helfen ein DualScreen in Extended Modus einzurichten?

OpenSuse 10.3
Röhre ist per VGA an Notebook angeschloßen.

Werde es morgen mal auch unter ARCH testen.
 
Versuchen zweiten Bildschirm über Sax2 zu konfigurieren.

ich habe ein aehnliches Probelm !


Hardware : T60 Thinkpad ( intel 950 gm )
Softwar : Suse 10.3 64bit ( Kde )

joa.... ich bekomme auch nen Monitor Clone hin jedoch zeigt er mir bei beiden Monitoren an, das sie Bildschirm 2. sind ....
Dual-head is aktiv und ueber das Kontrollzentrum kann ich auch nichts bewirken.





da meine xorg hier leider nicht reinpasst hab ich sie mal auf meinen Server gepackt :

Tomekk, ich liege eventuell total daneben, denn ich habe sowas noch nie konfiguriert, aber bei » de.opensuse.org « lese ich dies hier:

Multihead

Um eine Dual-/Multiheadkonfiguration zu nutzen sind mindestens zwei Grafikkarten und Monitore notwendig [...]
Zum Vergrößern anklicken....

...und die sollten natürlich auch in der xorg.conf erscheinen, und ich nehme an, dass Du in Deinem Lappy keine zweite Karte verbaut hast.

Könnte daran liegen, dass das bestimmt keine xorg.conf ist, was Du da gepostet hast, sondern eine logdatei.

Jaein. Man braucht schon 2 ausgänge ;) Hab ja ein intel 810 chip.

Wenn man 1 Karte hat mit 2 ausgängen. Dann legt man sich in der Config einfach eine 2te "pseudo" karte an. Natürlich mit den PCI bus wo der 2te output kommen soll.
 
Oh okay, mir erschien das HowTo auf der SuSE-Seite auch etwas antik (ab 8.1, gab es damals überhaupt schon Steckdosen?). Da verlässt mich dann allerdings jegliche ohnehin nie vorhandene Ahnung zum Thema.
 
@baud ohne xorg.conf ist da nicht viel zu machen :).

Es dürfte bei dir auch wie bei Tomekk an diesem Eintrag in der xorg.conf liegen ...

hmm...
also ich habe den Eintrag mal unter den monitor[0]
bei mir geschrieben ... hat aber nichts bewirkt

mein TFT zeigt immer noch das an ... was mein Notebook anzeigt ..
in der Sax2 is auch noch kein 2. Monitor aufgetaucht !

beide sagen beim Test... sie sind Monitor 2.

keiner will die nummer 1 sein :-(

Also ich sehe da nur 1 eintrag zur karte. Da sein müssen aber 2.

Und die 2te Monitor section sollte nicht auch "Monitor" heißen, sondern z.b "Monitor2" :)

Schau dir mal meine Xorg conf genauer an :)
 
Na, Xinerama ist nicht zu empfehlen, es funktioniert, aber die CPU Auslastung ist einfach zu hoch. Die proprietären Treiber sind eben besser.

Vielleicht hilft dir die etwas bei deinem Problem.

bei nvidia .. geht das ! *G*

aber ich habe keine Intel Treiber gefunden !


und wenn ich meinen 2. Bildschirm ... "Bildschirm2" nenne dann startet mein kdm nicht mehr
und ich darf in der Konsole meine backupdatei wieder einspielen ! :-(

hat jemand ne Idee ?

Ja diff mal deine xorg.conf mit der von Tomekk dann wird dir vielleicht was auffallen....

Versuch einfach mal die Config von Tomekk. Du musst vielleicht die Monitor sachen anpassen und die Auflösungen aber der rest sollte funktionieren.

also ich hab jetzt mal die vertikale und horizontale Wiederholungsrate geaendert
und dann hab ich wieder das Problem das mein kdm nicht startet !

da muss ich warscheinlich viel zu viel umstellen !


ich frage mich gerad was das mit dem "screen" auf sich hat ?

in meinem conf. sieht das ganz anders aus ....
aber ich hab hab kein plan was das is !

Hmm es ist schwer sowas zu sagen warum die Config nicht tut.
Versuch doch mal im

unter deinem User
startx

da bekommst du ne ausgabe warum es nicht tut, die wäre mal ganz Interessant.

Du brauchst für ´Device - Screen - Monitor´ auf jeden Fall 2 Einträge.
Versuch ´mal die Einträge zu kopieren. Dann entsprechend zuordnen ´Device0 - Device1, Screen0 - Screen1´ usw.

bisher habe ich naemlich Dual Head-Modus aktiviert !
