Ich habe ein Problem mit meinem neuen Drucker (HP Deskjet 4100) bzw. Multifunktionsgerät. Ich habe mir den entsprechenden Treiber von der HP-Supportseite heruntergeladen und auch installiert. Direkt danach hat auch alles prima funktioniert, aber seit dem nächsten Hochfahren des Rechners funktioniert er leider nicht mehr. Er wird erkannt, die Druckaufträge werden auch hingeschickt, nur tut sich absolut garnichts. Wenn ich ins Druckermenü schaue, ist bei dem Drucker ein rotes Kreuz abgebildet. Also irgendwas scheint da ja noch nicht richtig eingerichtet zu sein?!

Wie hast du den Treiber installiert ?
Welches Druckermenü ?

Wir brauchen mehr infos, sonst kann es ja auch am Wetter liegen, das dein Drucker nicht läuft :-)
 
Joa das sieht doch gar nicht schlecht erklärt aus. Hast du irgendwelche Fehlermeldungen gelesen, guck mal bitte mit

ob du irgendwas verdächtiges mit "HPLIP" oder ähnlichem findest. Was ich vermute ist, das der Treiber beim Systemstart entweder gar nicht oder mit Fehlern geladen wird...
 
Ich hab es mal versucht, allerdings konnte ich nichts Verdächtiges finden (was aber auch nichts heißen soll...). Würde es helfen, wenn ich Dir den Konsoleninhalt schicke, damit Du selber nochmal schauen kannst?

Aaalso, ich habe was herausgefunden, und zwar steht im HP-Gerätemanager folgendes:
"Derzeitiger Druckerstatus: angehalten"
Wenn ich den Drucker nun starten will, werde ich nach meinem Passwort gefragt. Dies ist offensichtlich nicht mein root-passwort. Weiss jemand, was ich dort eintragen muss?

Und einen Texteditor wirst Du sicherlich auch bedienen können, oder?

Ich habe den Drucker jetzt über "http://localhost:631/" manuell starten können, aber nach jedem reboot muss ich es jetzt neu einstellen.
Folgendes (siehe http://www.linux-club.de/ftopic86846-40.html) geht bei mir nicht:
Es gibt noch eine Datei, die Einfluss auf den Restart von CUPS hat.
Laut diesem Bugreport:

Eine Datei öffnet man unter JEDEM Betriebsystem _mit_ einem Programm (und klopft nicht nur den Dateinamen in die Shell).

Und notfalls gilt bei Zugriffsproblemen => "root tut gut".
 
Natürlich hab ich die beiden Befehle in der Konsole als root eingegeben. Und daraufhin habe ich dann die Meldung "Keine Berechtigung" zurückbekommen.

@supersucker: viiiiielen Dank!!! DAS hat mir wirklich geholfen, ich hatte nano garnicht drauf und hab den Editor nun installiert und konnte endlich auf meine Dateien zugreifen bzw. sie mir anzeigen lassen und entsprechend verändern. Die Dinge können doch so einfach sein...
Und der Drucker schnurrt wie ein Kätzchen :)
