Debian Etch Nvidia-Treiber installieren

    Hallo,
    ich weiß das Thema ist schon überall behandelt worden und ich habe jetzt zwei Tage nach einer Lösung gesucht. Jetzt bin ich nur noch frustriert. Ich habe debian etch installiert und für die Geforce FX5900XT den Treiber mit der run-datei installiert. Die Installation wurde korrekt angezeigt, und die xorg.conf sieht jetzt auch so aus wie sie (glaub ich jedenfalls) aussehen sollte. Nur die Auflösung bleibt unverändert bei 640x480 und läßt sich auch nicht verändern. Habe einen Teil xorg.conf angehängt, vielleicht ist alles ganz einfach nur ich sehe es einfach nicht.

    Änder in der Screen-Section mal den Monitor von Monitor0 auf MD1998LJ ... warum hast Du da eigentlich 2 definiert?

    Okay,hab ich gemacht,bringt aber leider nichts. Die xorg.conf ist automatisch erstellt,ich habe also nicht extra einen zweiten Monitor angegeben. Soll ich da einfach was löschen? Noch 'ne Frage: Wenn ich lsmod eingebe, müsste da ein Nvidiamodul angezeigt werden?

    *arg* ... sorry, ich seh grad, dass von Deiner xorg.conf immer noch ein Stück fehlt. Kannste die bitte nochmal komplett posten?

    Da müsste nämlich eine Server-Section sein, in der derzeit 'Screen "Screen0"' steht ... mit 'Screen Default "Screen"' könnte es sicher gehen (so aus der Hüfte geschossen.
    Denn wie Du im Log-Files siehst, nutz er über diese "nvidia-auto-select" derzeit nur 640x480 ... warum auch immer ...
